Shipment Structure: Calculating and Comparing Scenarios
The Shipment Structure function allows you to run highly complex transport cost simulations. While normal requests often query point-to-point prices, here you can model entire logistics scenarios. Calculate different shipment sizes (weight, volume) across multiple routes simultaneously against your tariffs stored in the system.
This is the ideal tool for tender analyses, budget planning, or strategic "what-if" scenarios.
Important Note on Availability: > The "Shipment Structure / Scenarios" function is a high-end feature for strategic controlling and is available starting from the Corporate package (as well as in the Enterprise package).
1. Accessing the Function
-
Click on the "Compare" (Vergleichen) menu item in the top navigation bar.
-
Select the "Shipment Structure" (Sendungsstruktur) option from the dropdown menu.
2. Defining Scenario and Transport Mode
-
Select Transport Mode: Determine the mode for your simulation at the top (e.g., Air Freight, Road Freight, Container FCL, etc.).
-
Manage Scenario: On the left side, you can create different projects (e.g., "Scenario #1: Eastern Europe Expansion"), add new ones, or switch between existing simulations.
3. Setting Parameters (The Data Basis)
On the right side, you configure which data OYASO should use for the calculation:
-
Logistics Service Providers: Select specific partners or leave the field empty to compare all available carriers against each other.
-
Quote Request (Rates): Select the stored tariff (tender/contract) that should be used as the price basis.
-
Currency: Set the desired output currency (e.g., Euro).
4. Evaluation and Comparison
The system generates a detailed matrix for your analysis:
-
Rows: Each row represents a specific combination of route and shipment size (e.g., "Dortmund -> Munich, 30 shipments at 23 t").
-
Columns: Here, the calculated costs of the different providers are displayed side-by-side.
-
Direct Comparison: Percentage values in brackets (e.g., +15.5%) immediately show you the deviation from the cheapest provider in the scenario.
-
Total Costs: At the end of the table, you will see the cumulative total sum for the entire transport package.
