Closing, Deleting, or Reopening Requests
Not every request leads to an order. Sometimes a shipment is canceled, or you find an alternative internal solution. To keep your list clean and maintain good "data hygiene," you should properly finalize such requests.
The Close and Delete functions in the right-hand menu are designed exactly for this purpose.
1. How do I access the action menu?
To edit or finalize a request, you first need to navigate to the detailed view:
-
Open your Status Overview from the main menu to see all ongoing and past orders.
-
Locate the relevant shipment in the list.
-
Click the "More..." link (or "Compare") on the right side of the row.
-
You are now in the detailed view. The action buttons (Edit, Close, Delete, etc.) are located in the menu on the right.
2. Closing a Request (Close)
This is the standard procedure when a request is finished but needs to remain documented.
-
When to use: The goods are no longer being shipped, or you have rejected all offers.
-
Action: Click the "Close" button (lock icon) in the right-hand menu.
-
Result: The status changes to "Closed," and carriers can no longer submit or alter their quotes.
Important: The data and all submitted offers remain saved in the system for your history and future reports.
3. Deleting a Request (Delete)
This permanently removes the record from your account.
-
When to use: Only for accidental creations, duplicates, or pure test requests.
-
Action: Click the "Delete" button (trash can icon).
Warning: The request and all received prices are irrevocably removed from the system. They will no longer appear in any of your statistics or reports.
4. Reopening a Request (Reopen)
Did you accidentally close a request too early, or has the shipment become active again?
-
Action: Navigate to the closed request as described above. The "Close" button will have changed to "Reopen".
-
Result: The request is active again. Depending on your settings, your partners will be notified that they can resume submitting offers.
-
Transparency: Every status change (Closed/Reopened) is cleanly documented in the Activity Log on the left side of your screen.
