# Using Reference Numbers (Order Numbers & Allocation)

#### You can assign an individual reference to every freight request in OYASO. This field is much more powerful than it might seem at first glance.

---

### **Where does the reference appear?**

- In the **subject line** of the emails sent to your carriers.
- In the **search function** of your Status Overview.
- In all **Excel exports** and reports.

**Best Practices for Usage:** Use the reference field to easily locate the request later in your ERP system or internal tracking lists. Popular entries include:

- Your internal **order or commission number**.
- The **zip code and city** of the consignee (for quick geographical searches).
- Specific information such as the **container number** or **vehicle type**.
