Rate Calculation: Quickly Calculate and Compare Transport Costs

With the "Rates" function (in the Compare area), you can calculate transport costs for a specific route (from point A to point B) at lightning speed based on your stored tariffs. Unlike the complex "Shipment Structure" feature (used for scenarios), this tool is designed for quick price quotes on a single route—without having to send a separate request to your carriers.

Step 1: Access the Function

  1. Click on the "Compare" (Vergleichen) menu item in the top navigation bar.

  2. Select the "Rates" option from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Define Route and Details

Enter the key details of the shipment in the upper section:

  • Transport Mode: Select the type of transport (e.g., "Full Truckload (FTL)" or "Air Freight").

  • Route: Enter the origin ("From") and the destination ("To") (e.g., Bologna -> Erfurt).

  • Additional Options: If needed, check the boxes for Import Customs Clearance or Transport Insurance.

Step 3: Quantities and Filters

Refine the basis for your calculation:

  • Filters: You can restrict the calculation to specific carriers, Incoterms, or hazardous goods classes.

  • Quantities: Enter the number of shipments, vehicles, or the value of the goods at the bottom to get an accurate total sum.

Step 4: Compare Results & Book

After entering the data, you will see a clear comparison table of the available providers (e.g., "Roadspeed", "Translogistic").

  • Costs: You will see the total price as well as detailed breakdowns of freight and other costs.

  • Ranking: The providers are typically displayed sorted by price or their performance rating (stars).

  • Direct Booking: If a price meets your requirements, you can click on "Place Order" (Auftrag erteilen) directly from this view to book the transport immediately.

Note on Availability: > Since this function relies on pre-stored tariffs, it is—just like the tariff management feature itself—generally available starting from the Corporate package.
